Delivery/Cancellation

DELIVERY

When you place the order (DO NOT order until I have reviewed your script), there will be a deadline for me to complete the gig. As soon as the order is placed, the Fiverr Clock starts ticking.

To be fair to clients, I do the gigs in the order I get them. I will get requests do to a gig ahead of another gig. Normally I can't because of the Fiverr clock. Let me explain with an example.

Lets say I have 3 gigs in queue -- Buyer 1 - Buyer 2 and Buyer 3. Buyer 4 comes along and asks me to do their gig in 3 days. Usually I can't or the clock on Buyers 1, 2, 3 may run out  if I do Buyer 4 gig ahead of their gigs. Not only will Buyers 1,2 and 3 be upset, Fiverr will punish me if I'm late on a gig. Being late on gigs  is a big no, no on Fiverr. If Buyer 4 wants their gig completed by a certain deadline and I can't do because I have other gigs in queue, I will  tell Buyer 4 I can't do their gig. THIS IS ANOTHER REASON YOU NEED TO SEND ME YOUR SCRIPT AND CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU ORDER WITH ANY SPECIAL REQUESTS.

I have no problem if you ask me to complete your gig by a certain time, but be prepared for the answer to be NO if I have others gigs that need to be completed before the Fiverr clock runs out on those gigs.

In most cases, deliveries go smoothly. I normally deliver the gig before the delivery/deadline date. Once the gig is completed, I will attach the whiteboard HD video to a delivery message on the Gig Order Page on Fiverr for your download. The max I can attach to a delivery message is 100MB. If your HD video is larger than 100MB, I will provide you a link in the delivery message to download the HD video from my drop box account.

CANCELLATIONS

I'm always amazed when I read a post on Fiverr forum from a buyer saying sellers want to cancel gigs. That doesn't make sense -- I'm not going to make any money if cancellations is my top priority. So cancellation is my last resort but at times it happens.

Here are some reasons a cancellation may occur.

1. A buyer orders the gig without first contacting me to review their script -- even worse, they order the gig and send me no script. Time is very precious on Fiverr. The Clock is ticking once you place the order. You must send me the script BEFORE you order the gig for my review. Once you place an order, I need that precious time to work on the gig, not to review a script or discuss issues. I have other gigs to worry about and will cancel a gig if it creates more work than necessary simply because the buyer did not follow instructions.

2. Things just happen. Something comes up unexpectedly and because of it I can't complete the gig. In the years I have been working on Fiverr, I have had family members get seriously sick, computers break down, car accidents, work related issues (I have another job besides Fiverr) and so on. In other words, life throws you a curve ball when you least expect it and when it does, I may have to cancel a gig if I have to dedicate my time to an issue outside of  Fiverr. Recently I had to cancel 7 gigs because I found out my mother had cancer and I had to go home. Believe me, I'm an animal that likes routine but when things happen that I have no control over, I must do what I have to do.

4. Fiverr kicks me in the butt or goes haywire or something from twilight zone. It always amazes me when something can happen to my account on Fiverr that doesn't effect other accounts. The list is too long for me to list everything here, but believe me one day everything is working great on Fiverr and the next day everything is running amok. I'll try my best to get the issue solved with Fiverr customer support, but there is no guarantee Fiverr will solve the issue in time for me to complete the gig. If that is the case, I will cancel the gig to avoid Fiverr's late gig penalty.

5. A client places an order without first contacting me and wants me to do $500 worth of work for $50. Won't do it. Contact me before ordering the gig to discuss -- I must review your script before ordering.

6. A buyer doesn't respond to messages in a timely manner. As I write this, I have a situation now where a buyer placed the order before contacting me. They did provide a script so I reviewed it. There were problems with the script so I sent the buyer a message, then another message, another and another. That was days ago and still no response. The Fiverr clock is ticking. If the buyer does not respond soon, I may have to cancel the gig. Time is running out and for most gigs I need at least 3 days to complete. I can't complete it until the script issue is solved. If the Fiverr clock ticks down to only 3 days left, I will cancel the gig. Two lessons here (1) I know I sound like a broken record, but send me your script for review BEFORE ordering the gig and (2) once you place the order, check your Fiverr messages often in case there is an issue I need to bring to your attention.

I try my best to avoid cancellations. If the buyer does their part, especially if they contact me to discuss before ordering, cancellations are normally avoided. Cancellations is an inconvenience for both the buyer and seller. Contacting me before ordering to discuss your gig and sending me your script for review BEFORE ORDERING, eliminates most cancellation problems.
